BELVIDE BIRDING

• Thursday, April 3, 2008 - Belvide Overcast NNW 2

The main highlight today was a fine drake Red-breasted Merganser that showed well from the Gazebo hide. This is the first record since November 2006. A Tawny Owl was found roosting in an ivy covered ash tree in the reservoir plantation. 60 Goldeneye were counted this afternoon, and 2 Brambling were by the woodland feeding station. At least 2 Blackcap were singing in the reservoir plantation.
