BELVIDE BIRDING

• Sunday, July 20, 2008 - Belvide Cloudy Odd Shower NW 3-4

The WeBS count produced 103 Mallard, 11 Gadwall, 4 Shoveler, 47 Tufted Duck, 2 Pochard, 22 GC Grebe, 138 Mute Swan, 102 Greylag Geese, 106 Canada Geese, and 904 Coot. A Ringed Plover was a new arrival, also 2 LRP, 3 Dunlin, 6 Common Sandpiper and a single Oystercatcher were present. 2 Raven and a Hobby were at the west end this morning and a Lesser Whitethroat was near the new hide.

At 12:20, a juvenile Hobby flew low over the water. It landed in a tree in the West end and left 10 minutes later. Around the same time, there were 3 Dunlin on the North shore.
