Castlecroft Birding

Wednesday 10th January 2007

Posted in Unspecified
A late morning tour around my patch on Wednesday produced 6 new species for the year. These were Pied Wagtail, Sparrowhark, Rook, 3 Skylark, Kingfisher and Little Grebe. Also the Raven was still present around Perton Mill Farm and Wightwick Fields.

The count at Pool Hall was very disapointing, with no sign of the Tufted Duck from the weekend.

Mallard: 7 (the others had moved onto the canal to escape from the wind).
Moorhen: 1
Mute Swan: 2
BH Gull: 1

Not exactly riveting stuff, but the species count for the year is now at 42.
