Fontmell Down - a good day out - 11:02 PM, Wednesday, August 9, 2006

An afternoon trip in cool and blustery conditions to Fontmell Down, hoping to see the very rare (in Dorset) Silver-Spotted Skipper.

Colourful birds - Redstarts

One of a family of Spotted Flycatchers on the same fence as the Redstarts.

All the activity attracted the attention of the local Sparrowhawk.

The Sparrowhawk has landed but the Redstarts and Flycatchers all escaped.

After all that excitement - a female Silver-spotted Skipper.
