On the coast - Ballard Down and Old Harry - 12:32 PM, Saturday, October 6, 2007

Pleasant sunny days and cool nights, good walking weather. In the hedgerows its a bumper year for berries so all we need now is a good hard winter to bring the thrushes and Waxwings south. In Poole harbour the first of the arriving Mergansers and Brent geese have been spotted.

Common Blue on Ballard Down.

Shag or Cormorant ? (probably the latter).

Yew berries.

Spindleberries.

Where is the Shag in relation to the Cormorant?
