Middlebere - Hen Harriers - 8:27 PM, Saturday, January 12, 2008

An excellent morning, sunny and not too windy. The harbour was full of fishermen and fishing boats all of which were scaring off the wildlife (including four Long-tail ducks). Moving on to Middlebere there was a flock of 300+ Avocets in front of the hide and the adjacent field had  good size flocks of Brents and Lapwings. A pair of Hen Harriers were quartering the reed beds.
