Kingfishers

 

were recorded at EHF and Rode Pool where an adult was seen feeding 4 young ~ Spotted Flycatchers were recorded at Crewe Green and Doddington where a pair nested under the eaves of an estate house ~ a juvenile Stonechat was on MGT on the 21st ~ 2 pairs of Yellowhammers were in Plant Lane, Elton on the 25th and a pair of Yellow Wagtails were nesting in a maize field at Wheelock Heath

    Twelve months to the day that a pair arrived in our garden last year, we had to quickly move the table on the patio this evening whilst we were eating as one arrived at the nest box again.

    Let's hope it returns with mate and breeds again.
