Tuesday 15 September 2009 - Bird Sightings of the West Midlands - Update

Bird Sightings of the West Midlands

Just to let my dearest 'viewers' know that I have now sorted out the problems I was having with Google Maps and that the 'Bird Sightings of the West Midlands' map is now up and running again.  It can always be found in the bottom right-hand corner of my blog but if you fancy it please click HERE for a quick taster.

In addition to interesting current sightings in the region I have decided to keep all records of the scarcities and rarities that have turned up in the West Midlands during 2009.  Please let me know if I have missed anything out.

Please note I have decided to exclude historical sightings of species such as Quail, Honey Buzzards, Glaucous Gulls, Iceland Gulls and Waxwings etc but all recent sightings of such species WILL be included and removed at a later date.

ENJOY!

Hey Up Arch

Great to see the old Google map up to date (keep it going!). Especially "Spoonbill night" at Uttoxeter Quarry, 10th July, I'll never forget that.

I'm sure "El Presidente Yapp" has seen just about all of these species at some point in our region this year! ;o)

Arch Responds: Whasssup brewer! I'll try my best mate.

About Me

WARNING: PARENTAL GUIDANCE IS ADVISED. CERTIFICATE 18. Thanks for dropping by... I go by the name of Adam 'Archie' Archer, a birder from the West Midlands of England & Chief Executive of ASBO (Association of Satirical Birders & Ornithologists). This is simply a blog relaying my tales from around the wonderful Isles of Great Britain (& sometimes beyond). I have been fortunate to witness many great birding spectacles from Unst at the highest tip of Shetland in the far north to pelagic trips off the coast of the Isles of Scilly in the extreme south west. I also also include sightings from around my home in north Warwickshire and my local patch, Alvecote Pools a SSSI that straddles the Warwickshire & Staffordshire borders. Birding is a great hobby so please relax, smile & enjoy it.... & for goodness sake don't take it all so seriously! PLEASE NOTE THAT VIEWS EXPRESSED IN THE COMMENTS ARE NOT NECESSARILY SHARED.
