Short trip to southern Sweden - near Västerås

Fantastic area -  Askoviken

Excellent birding despite being in Summer - some 66 species

White tailed eagle ( Juv)

Merlin

Hobbies,

Kestrels

Cranes

2000 graylag geese

Thrush nightingale

Pied and Spotted Flycatchers

Thursday, June 25, 2009 - Short trip to East USA

Spent a few days in New York, Boston and New Jersey.  Birding trips to Central Park; Plum Island and Cape Cod. Great sea trip to see the hump-backed whales.

Despite the bad summer weather, some 92 spps seen. Favorites included Wilson`s storm Petrel; Sooty and Great Shearwaters, Least terns; Piping Plover, Black bellied plover; Bobolink and Baltimore Orioles.

We are a bunch of Birders living in Basel
