Bad Finnish Birdwatcher

Wednesday, June 27, 2007 - Long-toed Stint

That's right. I said it. Long-toed Stint. If you didn't hear me the first time, I'll say it again: Long-toed Stint, Calidris subminuta. Right here - in Finland. In Kotka to be more precise. And oh yes - I saw it. It's not a very frequent visitor to Europe you know, a new species for Finland. A bit of a cosmic mindfucker actually. Second new species for Finland within three days, remember the Audouin's Gull on Sunday...

It was found on Tuesday, but I was so cool that twitched it on the second day. Yeah, I just thought I'd let you all know...

Jimi making sure the identification is correct.
