Flamingos are wintering at the door of VeniceTurists image Venice, NE Italy, as a sort of town coming from a fairy tale, with its oriental architecture and its many churches and towers. Venice is really rich also in nature, being surrounded by its famous Lagoon and very close to the Po river Delta, an area endowed with a very rich avian biodiversity. This year, for the first time, more than 2.000 Flamingos are wintering in the upper side of the Delta, so there are really Flamingos "at the door of Venice". They originate fom Spain, France, Turkey and Italy. Thanks to Fabio Cianchi for the picture. 19:44 - Friday, December 23, 2005 - post comment
