Wednesday, October 8, 2008 - [Bird Snapping] Heart Broken Swallow

I got these pictures by mail. One of those random mails that people blindly forward in an endless cycle. I don't know who the photographer is, but these are some superb bird pictures capturing a rare situation. I thought I`d share them with my readers.

  The images are those of a pair of swallows. The mail says that they are a mated pair, but I cant confirm this. Swallows are thought to mate for life. These images shows a bird that is probably fatally injured and its partner waiting on it in vain. The injured bird ultimately dies leaving behind a visibly heartbroken partner.
