Galley Head Birding

<%PhotoInfo%>

August 22, 2006 - Galley gets another fea's!

A fea's petrel was seen off Galley early this morning in almost flat calm conditions. An adult sabine's gull and 3 sooty shearwaters were seen later in the morning.  A couple of willow warblers was the mig "highlight".

A great shearwater, 5 balearic shearwaters, a few sooty shearwaters, 1 pomarine skua, a few bonxies and 1 arctic skua were seen off Galley this evening.

Sure I might learn by my mistakes and do the same, though the thought of huge crowds and maybe feck all passing doesn't excite me: some Brits that I know had been over for a few days, and were on the plane home yesterday evening when the Fea's went past. The same lads haven't seen one before either....
