January 1, 2007 - happy new year challenge

A stumble around Galley this afternoon produced 1 bar-tailed godwit, 1 chiffchaff, 1 whimbrel but bird of the day was a black guillemot in Dirk, which I missed at Galley last year. Year list total by the end of the day was 36.

Glad you got Black Guillemot, given that I 'gripped you off' with one off Galley last year! Hope it's a vintage year down your way...and that the best birds stay put!

sure I feckin twitched it! I ran 20 feet back down the road to see it after Claire called it up, such was my desire to nail it - it looked nearly as good as that murrelet too - nearly! Gotta love patch listing!
