March 10, 2007 - first seawatch of the year

One black guillemot, 22 manx shearwaters and 3 common scoters were seen off Galley this morning, on the first official seawatch of the year!

what's the story fella...been working my bollix off the last few weeks and this week has been no exception. How's the fam...Killian and Claire ok I hope. Off to the pacific and a plethora of lifers next week on the ferry again...hopfully Long-tailed Rosefinch on sunday to set the week up nicely. Folks arriving over on April 5th..should be fun. talk soon...how's de langer?

hey fella,

yeah. it's a strange one for sure. I was thinking of Brown (have seen both subspecies here) but not all the features fit. Eastern race of RBS do have a lot of grey on the back/mantle but something about the bill and eye mask don't fit either. It could be an Izzy/RB/Brown-type hybrid but it is hard to call it 100% RBS...looks like me list is stuck on 298 for now...
