Galley Head Birding

<%PhotoInfo%>

October 13, 2007 - back to mizen

Quiet again at Galley this morning with just the reed warbler still in Dirk Bay (dipped again!) Headed back to Mizen mid morning for great but brief views of the blyth's reed warbler there (eventually!) A cracking bird too, not that our japanese reader will be interested!. Also had yellow browed warbler and red breasted flycatcher there.

fella, congrats on the Blyth's...looks like your October run of ticks is taking off to full effect. Had a Pec Sand and Little Stint y'day, both JP ticks, which was nice.

Col, there are a lot of people who would ply you with pints, be your friends for life or other such like if you did find a Dusky Warbler that stuck around long enough to be twitched. Officially now a bigger bogey of mine than Fea's Petrel, and far rarer to boot, so I may be waiting a while.
If only I'd had that bird at Sand's Cove in 2005 out in the open for even 10 seconds...
