Galley Head Birding

<%PhotoInfo%>

January 1, 2006 - here we go!

The 2006 patch year list got off to a flier (49) with the green-winged teal and black-necked grebe still present on Kilkeran Lake this morning, and a 1st w glaucous gull over Long Strand this afternoon. Nothing much else out of the ordinary around Galley, with 2 great northern divers and 2 fieldfares the only other species of note.

happy new year Col. Sounds like it's off to a flying start for you! Am in the major depths of depression as I write this...my alarm never went off this morning and I missed the trip to Biwa-ko. TO make matters worse, they saw the Stellar's....I'm going to drink myself into oblivion tonight. Damn it all to hell! Ah well, my body was telling me something. I went back to bed and woke at 1pm! I got over 14 hours sleep last night!! Crazy. Anwyay, will be on-line tonight I'd say if you feel like popping in...
