Ashton Keynes 0950: Grey geese flying over very high, they were not Greylags but cannot say for sure whether they were White-fronts or Pink-feet. About 25 birds flew from West to East, very high. Most of them were in a loose V with 2 stragglers a little behind them. The were chattering continuously and continued directly to the East without losing height. John Grearson (A later session with Jean Roché's goose tracks has led John to the conclusion these can only have been White-fronts).
Upper Waterhay reserve this afternoon. 15 Redwing in hedges and Green Sandpiper calling nearby, presumably at CWP59. John Grearson
