The Cotswold Water Park Black Headed Gull Project

At this time of year, the chance of finding colour ringed gulls can be very high. So why not use your birding to contribute to science and bird studies around the UK and Europe and go looking for colour rings.

Since 2004, nestling Black Headed Gulls have been colour ringed in the Cotswold Water Park. Our birds, ringed by members of the Cotswold Water Park Ringing Group (CWRG) are fitted with white plastic rings bearing a 4 digit code. This code begins with “2”, followed by a letter, followed by another 2 numbers. Letters used so far: A, C, D, E, H.
