During a Ringing Session and Work Party a Bittern was seen at CWP 68d (Seen at 06.30hrs and then again at 08.30 hrs). It was feeding or roosting in the newly cleared open pool, presumably feeding along the margins created in September. If looking for this bird please keep to the footpath and view CWP 68d from the path; the reedbed and surrounding silt area are both very dangerous.

CWP 68d: 1M & 1F Stonechat; 4 Cetti's Warbler; 1 Raven; 3+ Skylark; 5 Chiffchaff; 24 Reed Bunting; 10+ Curlew flying over; 3+ Water Rail flying over (Matt Prior, Nick Adams, Nigel Goodgame, Gareth Harris et al)

CWP 32: Immaculate adult Yellow Legged Gull with a couple of hundred gulls of four species (Robin Griffiths)
