Seen during WeBs Count at CWP 25, 26, 27, 29, 30, 35, 38, 61, 62 and 95:  13 smew, 17 goosander, 2 scaup, 8 goldeneye, 414 tufted duck, 150 pochard, 145 wigeon, 39 gadwall, 45 great crested grebe and 49 mallardNick Adams / Darren Tonge

Having previously submitted counts from walks around the Water Park,  Martin Adlam and Dawn Young have submitted a static count after 3 hours fishing at CWP 6 for Pike, although I understand the score was Birds 40 - Pike 0.  

This shows what you achieve by staying still:- Great Crested Grebe; Cormorant; Tufted Duck; Goldeneye – 2 Drakes; Kestrel; Water Rail (1 calling in the reed beds on the South Bank); Moorhen; Coot; Golden Plover (30 flew south at 14:28); Lapwing (two flocks of 70 and 40 to the east); Black-headed Gull; Lesser Black-backed Gull; Woodpigeon; Collard Dove; Green Woodpecker; Great Spotted Woodpecker (A pair seen around the lake); Pied Wagtail; Grey Wagtail; Starling; Magpie; Carrion Crow; Jackdaw; Wren; Dunnock; Cetti's Warbler (1 possibly 2 birds along the east bank just south of Gateway Centre); Robin; Blackbird; Fieldfare; Redwing; Song Thrush; Great Tit; Blue Tit; Long-tailed Tit; Treecreeper (in the tall trees overhanging the River Churn in the SE corner); Chaffinch; Goldfinch; Lesser Redpoll; Siskin; Greenfinch; Yellowhammer.
