Great White Egret at CWP 60 at 100.00 hrs.  then flew over CWP 61.  Martin Adlam / Dawn Young

What was thought to be a bearded tit heard calling only from CWP 68d.   Martin Adlam / Dawn Young.

Seen during CWP Society walk for World Wetlands Day:  3 Great Scaup (1 Adult male, 1 immature male and 1 female), 2 male and 2 female Smew, 50+ Wigeon and Grey Herons displaying on CWP 29. 1 male and 1 female Smew on CWP 35, with 4 Goosander. Little Egret on CWP 38, and 50+ Shoveler on CWP 41.

A walk around CWP 68d, 68c, 68b, 59, 78b, 72, 68a, 75, 74, 95, 81 and 82 yielded Goosander and Chiffchaff at CWP 75, Kingfisher on R.Thames, Cetti’s Warbler and 4 Snipe at CWP 68d.  Other species seen were Great Crested Grebe – a pair displaying on Pit 81; Dabchick; Cormorant; Little Egret; Grey Heron; Mute Swan; Canada Geese ; Shelduck; Mallard; Gadwall; Wigeon; Tufted Duck; Pochard; Sparrowhawk; Buzzard; Kestrel; Moorhen; Coot ; Black-headed Gull ; Woodpigeon; Collared Dove; Green Woodpecker; Great Spotted Woodpecker; Meadow Pipit; Pied Wagtail; Dunnock; Robin; Blackbird; Fieldfare; Redwing; Song Thrush; Goldcrest; Long-tailed Tit; Great Tit; Blue Tit; Wren; Jay; Magpie; Rook; Carrion Crow; Starling; House Sparrow; Chaffinch; Siskin; Goldfinch; Greenfinch; Bullfinch; Reed Bunting  Martin Adlam / Dawn Young
