Paid my first visit to the new Reed Hide at Cleveland Lakes today. The hide and future reed bed are beautifully designed and the designers at CWP Soc. should be applauded. There are already breeding Coots, Mallard and probably Common Terns in occupation and a pair of Kingfishers were also present. Lesser Whitethroat and Cetti's Warbler in the hedge behind the hides. John Grearson
CWP68A a pair of Red-crested Pochard with 8 half-grown young. John Grearson
CWP74 lagoon 10 Cormorants and several immature Herring and Lesser Black-backed Gulls, together with a possible adult Yellow-legged Gull. John Grearson
Be warned that the path from Cerney Wick bridge is very wet and muddy at the moment and the Thames Path from Waterhay car park is little better.
CWP 9: Cotswold Sailing Club. Oystercatcher on the lawn of the yacht club. Also 2nd bird on the pier of a small island accompanied by a young chick; pair of red crested pochard and a 2nd adult male. Tony and Stella Chivers
