Permissive Footpath at Wheatleys Barn Farm (Lake 95)

Published by The Cotswold Water Park the 25/9/2008 at 22:16 . Permalink.

A polite request to anyone using the permissive footpath at Lake 95; please do not take matters into your own hands and start trimming back the hedgerow. The landowner and the Cotswold Water Park Society are currently working on a long term solution to this problem. Please bear with us.

Some of the vegetation along this footpath is Barberry, Berberis vulgaris, a thorny hedgerow shrub; at this location, this Barberry is protected under the Wildlife & Countryside Act 1981 and is part of a larger project in the Cotswold Water Park and North Wiltshire; please don’t damage these plants.

If you have further queries, please let me know:  Gareth Harris, Biodiversity Officer, Cotswold Water Park Society
