Blithefield weeks 5 & 6Posted at 5:48 PM on Sunday, August 17, 2008
Friday 08/08/08 Called in at Blithefield, went down to Tad Bay saw 3 Black Tailed Godwits which were soon flushed by a Peregrine never to be seen again. Heard that there was a Wood Sandpiper & a Knot in Blithe Bay but by the time I got there the Peregrine had flushed everything here also. HAS ANY BODY GOT A GUN.!!! Sunday 17/08/08 Bad start! my mate Jim came to pick me up but when he got here his back trye was flat. A quick change of tyre and he took his car back home (If your lucks out enough to have a puncture then its most likely you'll have another when you haven't got a spare) so we went in mine. Got to the Causeway at Blithfield and our luck changed there were 3 Black Terns present (Great a year tick!!!), there were also a large flock of approx 40 mixed Dulin and Ringed Plover on the Admaston shore by the Causeway they were later joined by a Little Stint but we didn't see it while we were there. We then went round to Blithe Bay where there were 5 Knot present we then walked round to Tad Bay but again a Peregine was making a nuisance of himself and flushing all the birds, we did manage to see a Ruff & a Greenshank though. A View from the Causeway towards Tad Bay, Blithefield Resevoir I've given up on seeing the Osprey at Blithefield this year every day we've been it has shown its face but not while we've been there. <- Last Page | Next Page -> |
