• Sunday, April 19, 2009 - More images of the Doves

Went and had another look at the Violet-eared Doves this morning, both were still feeding well on seeds in the potato field.

Lots of Long Tailed Meadow Larks in the field this morning along with a small numberof Black Chinned Siskin, House Sparrow, Falkland Thrush & a couple of Dark Faced Ground Tyrants.

On the Beach there was a juvenile Southern Caracara along with Kelp Goose, Magellanic Oystercatcher, Kelp Gull, Dolphin Gull and a couple of Two Banded Plovers.

Hello Mate. Nice shots of the doves. Hope they stick around.
Finally joined the Endurance yesterday. It does not look brilliant. A lot of work before I sail back into southern waters. Just hope they keep her.

I enjoy watching the birds in my backyard; but am no good at knowing what they are...except for a few obviously ones. Had fun watching a hawk trying to catch it's next meal the other night, a pesty squirrel.
