No sign of the Antarctic Fur Seal Arctocephalus gazella this morning but came across a young tagged Southern Elephant Seal Mirounga leonina on the next beach to the East. The tag was Orange A1736 not only was it tagged but also had 1056 ST on it's flank.

It is likely that this animal is from the long term study that is taking place on Sea Lion Island here in the Falkland Islands.
