• Thursday, October 15, 2009 - Speckled Teal Chicks and Baird's Sandpipers

I went out this evening to have a look for Baird's Sandpipers around Stanley Airport. On the pond at the back of Surf Bay a pair of Speckled Teal have 4 very young ducklings, also on the pond were a pair Silver Teal & a pair Flying Steamer Duck, around the edge were White Rumped Sandpipers, Two Banded Plovers & Rufous Chested Dotterels.

At the ponds near Stanley Airport I came across a couple of Baird's Sandpipers.
