Birding in the Falkland Islands

• Monday, January 15, 2007 - 13th - 14th January 2007

Not much birding this weekend as the weather was simply crap with very high winds and driving rain.

Quick visit to Gypsy Cove on Sunday producted the usual birds with again about 200+ Magellanic Penguins on Yorke Bay Beach and about 50+ on Gypsy Cove Beach.

Here are some more pictures of Falkland Birds

Grass Wren

Rock Shags

Black Throated Finch (Male)

Black Throated Finch (Female)

Silvery Grebe

White Tufted Grebe

I will be guiding a Swiss couple around the Falklands for two weeks starting next Sunday so hope to bring you lots of new images of the wildlife and landscape.
