Thought I would update my blog from when Surfbirds site went down so here goes.
Start of a 10 day tour with Mr & Mrs Keller from Switzerland around the far West of the Falkland Islands. First stop for 3 nights is Pebble Island.
Off to Tamar Point to have a look at the Rockhopper Colony where there is a report of a single Macaroni Penguin.

Plenty of young Rockhopper Penguin chicks this year. around the edge of the colony there are quite afew pairs of Falkland Skuas of very different plumage colours.


Other birds seen around Tamar area included, Gentoo & Magellanic Penguins, a very close pair of Peregrine Falcons with there newly fledged young.
Dark Faced Ground Tyrants in quite large numbers around the Gentoo colony.
Next day we had a good look around the many ponds that are on Pebble Islands.

Final day was spent up at Mable to have a look around the Rockhooper Penguins in the hope of seeing the Erect Crested Penguin that has been coming to Pebble for the last 10 years. Again lots of young Rockhoppers

After we leave Pebble the next morning it is back amongst the Rockhoppers
