Birding in the Falkland Islands

• Tuesday, March 27, 2007 - 27th March 2007 Cattle Egrets

Saw three Cattle Egrets today in Stanley

All three together

Cattle Egrets have over the last three years become quite scarce visitors, last year I only saw two birds and the year before none at all. The largest flock that I have seen in the Falklands was about 750 birds.

Hi Alan
First of all to say I enjoy your blog and photos.

They come over from Southern South America most years between March and May.

Nearly all are doomed to die as there is just not the food source here for them
