Birding in the Falkland Islands

• Thursday, August 23, 2007 - Long Tailed MeadowLark

Morning look around Gypsy Cove produced the usual suspect in the form of a small flock of Black Chinned Siskins, Black throated Finch, Grass Wren, Dark Faced Ground Tyrant and a pair of very confinding Long Tailed Meadowlarks

Male Long Tailed Meadowlark

Had a good look for the Rufous Collared Sparrow that has been around for the last few weeks, finally found it near the car park and managed to get some great shots of it

on an afternoon trip around to Berkeley Sound was very surprised to see about 30+ Black Browed Albatross as well as some Northern & Southern Giant Petrels and a few Cape Petrels.
