Birding in the Falkland Islands

• Thursday, November 22, 2007 - Ruddy Headed Goose with 14 young

Out for a bit of birding this evening around Yorke Bay area, the breeding White Tufted Grebe has been joined by a single Silvery Grebe on the small pond also on the pond were Speckled Teal, Silver Teal, and Patagonian Crested Duck & Upland Goose.

Around the edge there were Two Banded Plover, Rufous Chested Dotterel, White Rumped Sandpiper & a very tame pair of Magellanic Snipe.

On the way home came across this pair of Ruddy Headed Geese with 14 young quite sure they have stolen young from another pair in the area.
