Birding in the Falkland Islands

• Monday, June 16, 2008 - Birds of Prey

This afternoon I could hear a Red Backed Hawk calling from the paddock by my house, so I went to have a look, it turned out to be a juvenile bird calling to an adult male.

While I was taking some pictures of the juvenile bird a pair of Southern Caracaras landed in the paddock.

Alan, Just wanted to say how much I love your blog. I pop in every week or so - and it's like steppi ng into a world I know nothing about! What a fantastic place to bird. Every time you open the front door it must be thrilling. Keep it up and all the best. Charlie (http://10000birds.com)
