Birding in the Falkland Islands

• Thursday, September 18, 2008 - Sooty Shearwaters are back

Went out to Berkeley Sound this afternoon, it’s the first chance I have had to put my new Canon 450D through its paces.

Not much on the way out apart from a few Southern Giant Petrels, King Cormorants and Rock Shags but on the return trip came across lots of Sooty Shearwater that have just returned from wintering in the North also a few Antarctic Fulmar &  Black Browed Albatross.
