Birding in the Falkland Islands

• Saturday, September 27, 2008 - Gypsy Cove & Yorke Bay Pond

Out to Gypsy Cove this morning where the numbers of Magellanic Penguins has increased rapidly in the last couple of days. Lots of birds calling and busy cleaning their burrows.

Quite a lot of other birds about including Grass Wren, Falkland Pipit, Falkland Thrush, Black Chinned Siskin, Black Throated Finch & Dark Faced Ground Tyrant.

At Yorke Bay Pond there were Speckled Teal, White Tufted Grebe & a pair of Flying Steamer Ducks.
