October has arrived and one bird I wanted to catch up with this year was Leach's Storm Petrel. With one eye on the Internet I was busy waiting. Then it finally arrived birds on the east and west coasts, when could I get out to see them?
So it was with total shock when I got a text message Leach's Storm Petrel Pugney's Country Park (a place I like to call my locl patch) just has I was walking into Church that morning and then we were going out for dinner, I could see a great oppurtunity going. With great understanding from my wife and the friend we were having dinner with and not to forget the birding pal who stopped with the bird for hour's till I could get there. Eventually 5pm the bird was in the bag lifer 303 and with great views and not to forget an inland sighting to boot, brill!!!!!!!!!
Other birds seen in the brief time out were Pied Wagtail, Black Headed Gull, Common Gull, Coot, Robin, Tufted Duck, Mute Swan and Canada Goose.
