Brookie's Diary

• Saturday, February 17, 2007 - Thurgory Lane

Thurgory Lane again for a quick one or two hours to see what was about. On arriving at the lane, about 07:15am I found a large movement of large Gulls going through mainly  Lesser Black Backed Gulls, 3 groups of about 30 birds, along with smaller groups of  Black Headed Gulls. On to the lane to find Yellowhammers, Chaffinch and House Sparrows. There was also a good number of Skylarks marking out there patches with their high flying songs. I was also surprised with the large amount of Dunnocks in the area, I can't recall seeing and hearing so many along this lane. There was the usual Magpies, Jackdaws and Woodpigeons in the fields.
