Brookie's Diary
• Friday, April 6, 2007 - Bempton Cliffs
Day at the seaside to day to catch up with the common seabirds at RSPB Bempton Cliffs. We were not to be dis appointed with numerous Gannets, Razorbills and Guillemots. It wasn't a surprise to hear everybody pointing out their favourite bird at this site this has to go to the Puffin. Quite a funny character with wings flapping away like mad has it tries to keep airbourne. Other birds of note were Tree Sparrow near the reception site along with Meadow Pipit, Goldfinch, Greenfinch,Chaffinch and Linnet. Numerous Gull species were seen Great Black Backed Gull, Herring Gull Common Gull and Kittiwake and not forgetting Fulmar.
We moved up the coast then on to Filey seeing Corn Bunting enroute. At Filey Rock Pipit, Eider,Purple Sandpipier and Turstone were added to the list quite quickly as we made our way along the Brigg. |
