Brookie's Diary

• Tuesday, December 27, 2005 - Anglers Country Park

Christmas walk around the Park late p.m to walk some of the Turkey off plus there was a report off a Kumlien's Gull  late p.m yesterday. There was the usall ducks floating about as we walked round Ruddy Duck, Wigeon, Tufted Duck, Mallards etc. Walking down to the bottom part of the Park a Great Spotted Woodpecker gave us a quick glimpse as it flew in on top of a tree called and then flew off again. Around here also was a small tit flock giving us Great, Blue and Long Tailed along with three Redpolls. We eventually got round to the hide and settled in for the roost to come. After a time Black Headed and Common where out numbering the rest.Great Black Backed around the 50 to 60 mark, then an Icelend Gull was spotted thhis gave way to the Adult Kumlien's Gull which was spotted in the last few minutes of daylight. Not a bad few hours spotting to finish the day.
