Brookie's Diary

• Friday, June 1, 2007 - Local Day Out

Finished work and off out to play, in wll to wall sunshine. Off to the local ponds to seek out the reported tree Pipit.

On arrival Reed Bunting, Lapwing and Curlew were id by there calls. Soon Tree Pipit was located, on sitting watching this bird going to and fro from it's nest, I wondered if this could have been one I saw in the Gambia only a couple of months ago on migration. Not much else about on this hot day Swallow were hawking overhead with Wilow Warbler singing away with Blue Tit and Chaffinch in the wooded area.

I moved on then to one of the local reservoirs, Winscar. Here I caught up with Common Sandpiper, Linnet and Skylark. Not much to be had but a relaxing day out in the sun
