Brookie's Diary

• Friday, October 26, 2007 - Local Reservoirs

Firstly to Ingbirchworth Res. Here a few Gulls on the water mainly, Black Headed and Common Gulls. Ducks seen were Mallard and Teal along with the usual Coot and Moorhens. A walk around the res. produced good numbers of Fieldfares a good flock of 50+ with a few Mistle Thrush and Blackbirds thrown in. Blue, Long Tailed and Great Tits were about in small numbers along with Chaffinch, Greenfinch.

Moving on then towards Broadstones Res.  I caught up with the Male Pintail that had been there a while. Along with 3 Goosander, Mallard, Canada Goose Common and Black Headed Gulls in the field, two Pied Wagtails on the dam wall. Arriving back at the car I noticed a small bird fly up to the overhead wires, Stonechat not one but two. A nice round off to a good couple of hours
