Brookie's Diary

• Friday, November 9, 2007 - Deffer Wood

A day in the woods. On approach it was all too quiet now that the summer migrants have left. However there was good sightings of Nuthatch, and Great Spotted Woodpecker.
Further in to the wood I caught up with a flock of Siskin doing the rounds with Redpoll, Blue, Great and Long Tailed Tits. It took me a while to find a Goldcrest but I did. It seemed I had the woods too myself with hardly anybody about it was a pleasant moment listening to the common birds again going about their daily routines, with time for me to relax away from the day to day rush of our modern day lifes. Other birds enjoyed that day were
Goldfinch, Blackbird, Jay, Heron, Chaffinch and Robins
