visitor centre at cley over looking reserve
On to the Norfolk coastwith Cley Marsh being the first stop for the day. We arrived at Cley now with the new centre at about 10.30am in the morning and to a cloudy reception. The last time I visited Cley marsh was back in 1998 on the 2nd May with a friend who now lives in Hong Kong. Cley has changed little in 10 years the birds were still there and Sedge Warbler was my first find of the day in the car park.

The birds started to roll in with Marsh Harrier, Avocets, Black Headed Gull, Swift, Swallow and House Martin all seen before we hit the marsh. Permits paid for, now £4 each, and off we set seeing Ringed Plover, Little Egrets, Whitetthroat and quite a few duck species on the marsh.
Leaving Cley we headed towards Titchwell and had a brief stop there. Titchwell I have to say is one of the reserves I could live on. Having checked in we headed down to the hides. Seeing the amount of people in there we kept out. You do have great views over the scrapes/reeds from the footpaths and that's were we like to view from. Adding Common Tern, Common Sandpiper, Knot, Dunlin, Black Tailed Godwit and Grey Plover to the weekend list of bird species seen.
