Black Kite dusk assembly

This morning, I felt a strong urge to go Kite-watching at the Black Kite Valley*, the call was echoing throughout the day in my heart... finally, I followed my heart.

It's well deserved the visit. The Black Kite population rose to peak at around sunset, estimated 150+. I was not focused on the count, simply enjoyed the watching.

In order to blend with the surroundings, gradually I kneed down and took shelter from the fence. Once for a while, the Black Kites swirled so close to me that I felt I was embraced in their swirling center, sharing their calls and ecstasy in the wind!
At the moment, the soaring Black Kites looked like 'stars' to me - so many, big and small, far and near, swirling (twinkling) closely infront and overhand... I felt very blessed and being one with them. (And the sky was beautiful too!)

A very happy and excited experience of the first watching of wintering Black Kites this year!

* 'Black Kite Valley' is a nick name given by a birder to describe the valley where Black Kite night roost. Just located by the city.
