9th Feb - Teardrop lakesWoke around 12 today (no not being lazy I was working all night) to a bright and sunny day!! feels like forever since it was this bright. So decided to take a trip to Teardrop lakes in Milton Keynes (in truth this is because it is a 10 minute walk from my house) and see what new birds I could add to this list.
It all started quite well with a Pied wagtail showing well (means I can now add a shot), followed by a new photo for the year in Long-tailed tit. Not much else around but did manage some great shots of a female Great spotted woodpecker. (I will have to add the photos at a later date, really shouldn't update this Blog at work). 7:35 PM - Thursday, February 9, 2006 - comments {0} - post comment8th Feb 2006 - Waxwings return to MK!!After almost a years absence, waxwings were spotted in Central Milton Keynes, yesterday (7th Feb) Well done Bob!! A trip up to the centre and around an hours wait led to some excellent views and the chance for some nice photos. In amongst a nice flock of Redwings and Starlings were 5 of these punk like birds (6 had been seen earlier, always miss one!!). Managed to add Redwing, Straling, Waxwing and House sparrow to photo yearlist. (will add these photos soon)Todays photos:  Bohimian Waxwing - Central Milton Keynes, Bucks. One of the 6 birds present 8th Feb 2006. List up to 28 now!!

I cannot remember all the dates of these photos, so please bare with me , future updates will include date and location of each bird.The list at the bottom of this page includes birds photographed, but of a low standard (I am quite choosey) or photos I have misplaced  for the time being (I have probably the least well organised PC ever!!). When I take better pictures or find the ones I am after, I will delete them from the list (heres hoping that the list shrinks to nothing, and stays that way!!). Hawfinch - Emerson valley, Milton Keynes, Bucks. 26th Jan 2006, one of up to six birds present, a very scarce local bird, in a welcome eruption year.  Dark bellied Brent goose - Furzton lake, Milton Keynes, Bucks. 16th Jan 2006, a local scarce bird.  Eurasian Siskin - Teardrop lakes, Milton Keynes, Bucks.  Blue tit - Shenley wood, MiltonKeynes, Bucks.  Blackbird - Shenley Lodge (garden), Milton Keynes, Bucks.  European Robin - Teardrop lakes, Milton Keynes, Bucks.  Moorhen - Teardrop lakes, Milton Keynes, Bucks.  Grey Heron - Teardrop lakes, MiltonKeynes, Bucks.  Canada goose - Furzton lake, Milton Keynes, Bucks  Mute swan - Teardrop lakes, Milton Keynes, Bucks. The following birds have also been photographed but not yet uploaded or picture quality not good enough:
