As mentioned yesterday, I planned on seeing corn crake and red-backed shrike today. That was accomplished with extras, since there were three corn crakes! I didn't see any goldfinch, but I'm not too upset about that since I found a wryneck instead! Three new species in one day is damn good work in my not very humble opinion!
edited to add:
Apparently, the wryneck had been there all morning too, so wasn't first to see or report it :) I managed to film it with my digital camera, mainly for the sound record, since the image quality is really bad. Might try to upload the video later.
Other sighted birds worth mentioning were: coal tit, green warbler, whinchat, heron, female cuckoo, snipe, black woodpecker, garden warbler and goldcrest. I also saw a small greyish brown bird with red tail that darted out of sight into a pile of logs before i could determine its species. Probably was a female redstart, but black redstart, bluethroat or thrush nightingale would be good guesses too.
Another spectacular event was that I actually managed to drag my girlfriend with me. The impressive view from Brudarebacken and picnic lunch probably did the trick.
Above is a picture of the male red backed shrike on Brudarebacken. He's the blur with black tail in the red circle. The reason for the bad image quality is that it's taken with handheld camera through handheld binoculars. And of course the excessive sharpening.

My goal for 2007 was get above 200 life-ticks. I managed 215 and the goal for 2008 was to get to 250. Right now it looks like I might get to 250 year ticks which is of course even better.
