Birding on the west coast of Sweden

Friday, May 25, 2007 - Going to Halland tomorrow

Tomorrow I'm going to Getterön! It's one of the best birding locations on the west coast of Sweden. Hoping for Avocet and Red-necked Phalarope. One female Phalarope was seen in Getterön yesterday and one in Torslandaviken today. Might be the same one. It could probably have flewn from there to here over night, but I'm not sure. Also, a Little Egret was observed just north of Getterön today. Let's hope it decides to spend the weekend in Torslandaviken...

Other possible findings could include Honey Buzzard, Red Kite and Quail. All of them and the above mentioned are life ticks. Year ticks I'm hoping for are Bluethroat and Garganey

On a side note; In Sweden we use crosses instead of ticks. In correcting tests and such, we use an R for correct (swedish: "rätt") and a tick for wrong.

Gotta find some food for tomorrow...

About Me

26 year old birder from Gothenburg, Sweden. My goal for 2007 was get above 200 life-ticks. I managed 215 and the goal for 2008 was to get to 250. Right now it looks like I might get to 250 year ticks which is of course even better.
