Birding on the west coast of Sweden

Saturday, July 14, 2007 - Attempting Red Breasted Goose

Posted in Local watching
In five hours I will embark on a journey to the southern archipelago where a Red-Breasted Goose has been swimming about for a couple of days now. Today there was also a possible Pacific Golden Plover in the same area. Other, more likely, lifeticks on the same island are Knot, Curlew Sandpiper and Grey Partridge.

I spent a couple of days at the summer house again. A trio of Hawfinches kept me under surveillance while I thatched the guest cabin. Got some pics with my new 400 mm tele. On film though, so they'll have to wait for development.

Den kom inramlande en regnig eftermiddag och var mer eller mindre stationär på en av göteborgs bästa lokaler i ca två dagar. Gubbarna blev helt till sig eftersom den var kryssbar för både västergötland och bohuslän :)

About Me

26 year old birder from Gothenburg, Sweden. My goal for 2007 was get above 200 life-ticks. I managed 215 and the goal for 2008 was to get to 250. Right now it looks like I might get to 250 year ticks which is of course even better.
