Birding on the west coast of Sweden

Monday, September 22, 2008 - Red-throated Pipit and Yellow-browed Warbler

Posted in Local watching
A nice duo of lifers collected on Rörö yesterday. Also had four species of falcon, Short-eared Owl, at Hönö Collared Dove, and at Torslandaviken Little Stint, 19 Grey Herons flying simultaneously and nice weather :) More and pics later today.

Only thing about Rörö that might block the sun is the fact that we didn't find the Yellow-browed ourselves...

I'm rather happy with watching stuff that other birders have scrounged up. What have we found the past year? Some Ring Ouzels, a Tundra Swan and some other minor stuff. Sure, I was present with both the Balearic Shearwater and Sabine's Gull for example, but I bally well didn't help in any way :)

No, you're right, it's OK anyway. What would my "Big Year" be like without for example the Terek, the Spoonbill or the Aquatic Warbler? One can be pretty satisfied.

About Me

27 year old birder from Gothenburg, Sweden. Last year we twitched for year ticks. I ended up with 250 which is more than I had lifers when the year started. This year I'll go fairly easy on the year ticks (Though anything under 200 is shameful) but will instead aim for 300 life ticks in Sweden. A task and a half probably...
